Role: Operations Manager
Location: Remote (UK-based, with occasional travel)
Salary: £35,720 pro rata
Hours: 28 hours per week plus benefits
Nature of contract: 12 month initial contract
Responsible to: Chief Operating Officer
Rape Crisis England & Wales (RCEW) is the national campaigns and membership body for a network of independent, community-based Rape Crisis Centres across England and Wales. Together, our member centres provide specialist support and advocacy for people affected by rape and sexual abuse.
Defour Partnership is proud to work in partnership with RCEW to support with the recruitment of the Operations Manager. We are looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused professional who can lead RCEW’s day-to-day operations, strengthen systems and processes and help teams work effectively across a remote organisation.
About the role
The Operations Manager will provide operational leadership across RCEW, managing a small team including the Finance Officer and Digital, Data and Information Governance Coordinator.
Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Senior Management Team and colleagues across the organisation, you will ensure that the systems, processes and structures supporting RCEW’s work are effective, well coordinated and fit for purpose.
This is a varied role with oversight across operations, finance, data and digital, information governance, governance and people support. You will set clear priorities and workplans, monitor performance against agreed objectives and KPIs, coordinate projects and help identify and address operational inefficiencies.
You will also play an important role in creating a cohesive and well-supported remote working environment, ensuring colleagues have the tools, systems and support they need to work effectively.
About you
This role will suit an experienced operations professional who enjoys improving how organisations work and is equally comfortable leading people, coordinating multiple priorities and strengthening systems and processes.
You will have strong experience within an operations or office management environment, ideally within a remote or distributed organisation, alongside proven experience of line managing and developing staff.
You will be confident working across different organisational functions, with experience of overseeing or working closely with finance and data, digital or information governance functions. Experience supporting governance activities and developing effective processes within a remote organisation will also be important.
Above all, we are looking for someone who is collaborative, organised and solutions-focused, with strong people leadership skills and the confidence to address challenges, build effective relationships and help drive continuous improvement.
