Role: Head of Operations
Location: Remote with occasional travel by arrangement
Hours: 30 Hours per Week
Salary: £45,688 FTE (£37,785 Pro Rata) plus benefits
Fixed-Term Contract – 12 Months

Rape Crisis England & Wales (RCEW) is the national campaigns and membership body for a network of independent, community-based Rape Crisis Centres providing specialist support and advocacy to women and girls affected by rape and sexual abuse.
We are proud to be working in partnership with Defour Partnership to recruit a Head of Operations – a vital role that will help strengthen and shape core organisational functions during an exciting period of development and change.
This is a broad and influential senior leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives across multiple operational areas and enjoys turning priorities into practical action.

About the Role
As Head of Operations, you will play a central role in ensuring the smooth and effective running of the organisation’s operational infrastructure.
Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Leadership Team, you will oversee:
• Information Governance and Data Protection
• Data Management and Reporting
• Digital Systems and Operational Delivery
• Finance Oversight and Operational Processes
• HR and People Operations
• Governance, Systems, and Organisational Efficiency

You will lead operational improvement across multiple functions, ensuring systems, reporting, governance, and processes are reliable, effective, and fit for purpose.
This role requires someone who can confidently move between strategic priorities and day-to-day operational delivery while maintaining a strong focus on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

About You
We are looking for a senior operational leader who brings strong organisational judgement, practical problem-solving skills, and experience delivering across broad operational portfolios.
• Significant experience within senior operations, corporate services, or operational leadership roles
• Strong understanding of UK GDPR, data protection, and governance frameworks
• Experience overseeing operational finance processes and reporting
• Experience managing HR operations and people processes
• Proven experience improving systems, processes, and operational delivery
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Highly organised and solutions-focused
• Calm and confident under pressure
• Collaborative and aligned with our value base values-driven
• Comfortable leading change and driving improvement
• Passionate about delivering high-quality operational support behind the scenes
